Our misperceptions about our identity is limiting us.  It is keeping us unaware of who we really are. Our belief that we are that identity blocks our awareness of our wholeness, completeness, limitlessness and divinity. So, we keep looking outside ourselves to separation and illusion for meaning in our so-called lives.  We have greatly misunderstood our identity and, as a result, the world.

There is nothing outside you.  That is what you must ultimately learn, for it is the realization that the Realm of Heaven is restored to you.  For the One created only this, and did not depart from it nor leave it separate from the One.  The Realm of Heaven is the dwelling place of the One Child of the One, who left not their Creator and dwells not apart from Oneness.  Heaven is not a place nor a condition.  It is merely an awareness of perfect Oneness, and the knowledge that there is nothing else; nothing outside this Oneness, and nothing else within.   T-18.VI.1:1-6

Heaven, our home, is simply an awareness of perfect Oneness and a knowing through that Oneness that there is nothing else.  All else is nothing more than misperception. The world we think we see has no consequence other than to lead us to the awareness of Oneness. We cannot realize Oneness through getting or seeking but through releasing, accepting and allowing. The belief that we must seek something else, outside of us, has cost us dearly. It has cost us our awareness of Heaven and our Identity. In this mistake, we have done ourselves a great disservice by displacing our mind to our body, thus deceiving ourselves that we are a body rather than mind.  We deny ourselves the awareness of Oneness in this way for bodies cannot join where minds can and do join. Then by assigning the properties of the body – separation – to the mind do we make the mind seem separate from all other minds.

The Course asks us many times to look beyond the appearance of things to what is real. Could we, just, for a moment, entertain the idea of looking beyond the appearance of our body that we have identified as and be willing to see our identity as Oneness? Perhaps we would allow Spirit to bring us into the holy instant that brings the awareness of Oneness to our experience. This brings us the awareness of our identity, even if just for a moment. We may return to our belief that we are a body time after time, but we remember that we are more than that body.  We remember that we can allow ourselves to let go of our misperceptions at any moment and allow Spirit to bring our minds into the awareness of who we really are. Take a moment and look within to the limitless mind we are joined with all Creation and step into the awareness of Oneness. This is what we have been seeking unsuccessfully outside ourselves. Allow yourself to look within and find what you’ve had all along.

Ask yourself if the world you see is the world you want.  What do you think about the world around you?  How do you perceive it?  Is there a sense of love and peace, even joy within your mind as you gaze upon the world?  Or, does the way you see the world fill you with fear, anxiety, guilt or even hatred?  What we feel when we gaze upon the world gives us a clue to the condition of our thinking at any moment.  We are either thinking with our One Mind, rooted in Oneness and our Source, or we are thinking with our egoic mind, rooted in our belief in separation.  We can choose to be in the freedom and abundance of Oneness or the captivity and limitation of separation.  Perhaps we even feel “safe” as we perceive in separation.

Yet, even so, we do not know real safety and freedom from the perspective of separation and the egoic thought system.  This is what the Course calls our waking dream.  The dream full of uncertainty we call our human life and the world we seem to live in.  Perhaps we would prefer a happier dream?  The holy instant can bring us to just that happy dream.

Never approach the holy instant after you have tried to remove all fear and hatred from your mind.  That is its function.  Never attempt to overlook your guilt before you ask the Holy Spirit’s help.  That is Spirit’s function.  Your part is only to offer Spirit a little willingness to let Spirit remove all fear and hatred, and to be forgiven.  On your little faith, joined with Spirit’s understanding, Spirit will build your part in the At-One-mint and make sure that you fulfill it easily.  And with Spirit, you will build a ladder planted in the solid rock of faith, and rising even to Heaven.  Nor will you use it to ascend to Heaven alone.   T-18. V.2:1-8

Heaven on earth is ours for the asking, for even a little willingness.  No great effort is needed.  Great effort does nothing but get in the way.  Letting go, releasing our minds, even getting out of the way is the little we need do to allow Spirit to raise our awareness in the holy instant to the freedom of our natural state of being.  Wholeness, completeness, freedom, love and peace are all the conditions of our natural being, our divine essence in Oneness.  We do not awaken to this alone, but hand in hand with each other and Spirit, recognizing we are all One.  As we walk in Heaven, even as we are still in this world, we walk in this happy dream guided by Spirit, our Higher Holy Spirit Self.  We walk with Love in our hearts and minds remembering the divine beings we are.

Our holy relationship is reborn and blessed in every holy instant we do not arrange and thousands will rise to Heaven with us as we allow our relationship to be transformed by Spirit in that holy instant.  We need do nothing more than release that iron grip we hold on our perceptions to soar into the freedom of the holy instant and the awareness of who we really are.

It is no dream to love another as yourself.  Nor is your holy relationship a dream.  All that remains of dreams within it is that it is still a special relationship.  Yet it is very useful to the Holy Spirit, Who has a special function here.  It will become the happy dream through which Spirit can spread joy to thousands on thousands who believe that love is fear, not happiness.  Let Spirit fulfill the function that Spirit gave to your relationship by accepting it for you, and nothing will be wanting that would make of it what Spirit would have it be.   T-18.V.5:1-6

If at any time your holy relationship seems to be threatened, remember how deep your indebtedness is to the other and how much gratitude is due the other, and be glad that you can pay your debt by bringing happiness to both of you.  Remember this, and say:

I desire this holy instant for myself, that I may share it with another, whom I love.

It is not possible that I offer to the Holy Spirit, that Its blessing may descend on us, and keep us both in peace.   T-18.V.7:3-6can have it without them, or they without me.

Yet it is wholly possible for us to share it now.

And so I choose this instant as the one to offer to the Holy Spirit, that Its blessing may descend on us, and keep us both in peace.   T-18.V.7:3-6

Relax and be willing, even just a little willing, to transform your special relationship into the holy relationship it is in the holy instant.  As we do so we allow ourselves to step into the awareness of our divine nature in Oneness with all of Creation.  Let this be so now.

We have programmed ourselves to prepare, prepare, prepare.  To seek some more and prepare again.  We think we need to make ourselves worthy of what the One has to offer us.  We believe that the One will not even look at us until we are thoroughly cleansed and purged of all “sin”.  Even while we are seeking and preparing and cleansing ourselves, we fail to see and understand that we are already what we seek to be, let alone worthy of it.  We are created by the One in Their image and one with Them.  It is impossible for us to be anything other than the One who creates us.  Yet we firmly believe we are something outside and separate from the One.  Our problem is merely a problem of awareness of Self.

Rather than seek to prepare yourself for the One, try to think thus:

“I who am host to the One am worthy of Them.

The One Who established Their dwelling place in me created it as They would have it be.

It is not needful that I make it ready for Them, but only that I do not interfere with Their plan to restore to me my own awareness of my readiness, which is eternal.

I need add nothing to Their plan.

But to receive it, I must be willing not to substitute my own in place of it.”

T-18.IV.5:8-13

To think we need to prepare ourselves for what we already are must be insane.  It certainly makes a lot of unnecessary work that does nothing but run us in circles around who we really are.  We are eternally what we seek to be.  We are as the One creates us and nothing less.  The idea we are anything less is surely insanity.  Relax and look within to the Higher Holy Spirit Self we truly are.

And that is all. Add nothing more.  Add more, and we will merely take away the little that is asked of us.  We are worthy.  Our fear of being worthy is one of the greatest blocks we have made to the awareness of who we really are.  Let go of that fear, for it does not serve us.  In fact, let go of everything, all doubts, fear, and guilt.  None of that serves us one bit.  It is our choice to let go of all that blocks us from the awareness of who we really are.  It is only fear that we will add, if we prepare ourselves for love.  The preparation for the holy instant belongs to the One Who gives it.  It is this that makes the holy instant so easy and so natural.

Forget not that it has been your decision to make everything that is natural and easy for you impossible.  If you believe the holy instant is difficult for you, it is because you have become the arbiter of what is possible, and remain unwilling to give place to One Who knows.  The whole belief in orders of difficulty in miracles is centered on this.  Everything the One wills is not only possible, but has already happened.  And that is why the past has gone.  It never happened in reality.  Only in your mind, which thought it did, is its undoing needful.   T-18.IV.8:1-7

The holy instant is our natural state of being.  Let yourself rest into the holy instant and recognize the real you in that moment.  It is always there within us, even when we fall out of awareness and forget who we really are.  Let the desire to prepare yourself for something you already are be the reminder that you already are what you think you need to prepare yourself to be.  In essence, just be.  Be the You you are.

Ease up!  Stop trying so hard.  Little effort is required.  The Course tells us again and again that we are expending way too much effort in achieving our desire.  The Course teaches us that we need only set our desire for wholeness and healing and Spirit will lead us from there.

The holy instant is the result of your determination to be holy.  It is the answer.  The desire and the willingness to let it come precede its coming.  You prepare your mind for it only to the extent of recognizing that you want it above all else.  It is not necessary that you do more; indeed, it is necessary that you realize that you cannot do more.  Do not attempt to give the Holy Spirit what It does not ask, or you will add the ego to Spirit and confuse the two.  Spirit asks but little.  It is Spirit Who adds the greatness and the might.  Spirit joins with you to make the holy instant far greater than you can understand.  It is your realization that you need do so little that enables Spirit to give so much.   T-18.IV.1:1-10

We want to make this complicated.  We have grown to believe that anything worthwhile must be worked hard for.  This is simply untrue – it is an egoic belief that is wholly mistaken.  We are what we desire to be, yet we have blocked the awareness of who we are from our awareness.  Spirit’s purpose is to gently awaken us to the awareness of who we really are.  We have the best of intentions.  We want the best for ourselves.  Yet we try to accomplish this for ourselves.  We attempt to do it alone without the benefit of Spirit.  What happens then is that our egoic thought system gets involved and twists the whole attempt to distract us from our goal.  Spirit asks us for just a little willingness, a little willingness to rely on Spirit’s guidance.  Trust your little willingness implicitly.  Do not be distracted by the shadows that seem to appear along the way.  The shadows are an egoic device to distract you from your goal which is so close.  Spirit guides us to the holy instant.  The miracle of the holy instant lies in our willingness to allow it to be what it is.  It needs no embellishment, nor any bells and whistles.  In our willingness lies our acceptance of ourselves as we are meant to be.  Oneness.

Our barrier to our awareness is our belief that we are unworthy of such Oneness.  We have convinced ourselves that we are unworthy of anything so wonderful.  We feel ourselves unworthy of the Great Rays of light that emanate from us in the holy instant and so are afraid.  Fear has no place in our wholeness.  Our wholeness is limitless.  The only thing lacking is our awareness of our true nature and our trust in who we really are.  In the awareness of our Oneness we are never alone and we never do anything alone.  Our minds are all joined with the Mind of Source as One Mind.  This One Mind is all powerful and nothing can prevail against it.  We are this limitlessness.  And it comes to us in this holy instant.

The holy instant does not come from your little willingness alone.  It is always the result of your small willingness combined with the unlimited power of Source’s Will.  You have been wrong in thinking that it is needful to prepare yourself for Source.  It is impossible to make arrogant preparations for holiness, and not believe that it is up to you to establish the conditions for peace.  Source has established them.  They do not wait upon your willingness for what they are.  Your willingness is needed only to make it possible to teach you what they are.  If you maintain you are unworthy of learning this, you are interfering with the lesson by believing that you must make the learner different.  You did not make the learner, nor can you make them different.  Would you first make a miracle yourself, and then expect one to be made for you?   T-18.IV.4:1-10

Wait not one more moment.  Lay aside all feelings of unworthiness and allow the holy instant to rise within you.  Allow the awareness of worthiness and limitlessness to rise in your mind.  As you do, peace and love will rise also, bringing you to the awareness of the Great Rays that shine around and within you to all the world.  Rest in the light you are.  It is worth your little willingness.

What is our true desire?  Is it not to be whole?  We want, more than anything else, to be whole, complete, content and happy.  We have set our desire, and allowed Spirit to guide us in that desire, for we know it is found within us where Spirit dwells.  We have opened ourselves to the light within us and we now are open to the idea that we share that light with each other.  That light is strong, yet it grows in strength as we join in Oneness.  We have glimpsed the holy instant, even carried it in our life.  We have experienced that instant when all that is not real drops away and we know, in this moment, that we are complete.  We look to our relationships and see them differently.  We begin to see the deep connection within them and we see our true holy Self reflected in each One.  We are the light workers that bring the light of truth to the world.  What a glorious mission this is.  What a holy purpose this is.

You who are now the bringer of salvation have the function of bringing light to darkness.  The darkness in you has been brought to light.  Carry it back to darkness, from the holy instant to which you brought it.  We are made whole in our desire to make whole.  Let not time worry you, for all the fear that you and another experience is really past.  Time has been readjusted to help us do, together, what your separate pasts would hinder.  You have gone past fear, for no two minds can join in the desire for love without love’s joining them.   T-18.III.7:1-7

Be willing to allow the light within to shine into our waking dream.  It illuminates our mind.  It shines away as much of the darkness we harbor as we will allow.  Allow Spirit to guide that light to the ideas and beliefs we hold so dear.  Have no fear that anything real will be taken away.  What is real will stand strong in the light and remain while anything not real will simply fade into nothingness.  Choose to leave the darkness behind.  Follow the light into the realm of Heaven.  We will find Heaven, even in this world, as we allow our mind to be guided by Spirit.  All we see and experience has another meaning that Spirit guides us toward.  We can see beyond the appearance of all we come across in this world to the real meaning beyond its appearance.    As we learn in lesson 61, We are the light of the world.  Let that light shine.

Heaven is joined with you in your advance to Heaven.  When such great lights have joined with you to give the little spark of your desire the power of Source, can you remain in darkness?  You and another are coming home together, after a long and meaningless journey that you undertook apart, and that led nowhere.  You have found another, and you will light each other’s way.  And from this light will the Great Rays extend back into darkness and forward unto Source, to shine away the past and so make room for Source’s eternal Presence, in which everything is radiant in the light.   T-18.III.8:3-7

The Great Rays are shining within you now.  Recognize them!  Allow these Great Rays to shine away the darkness you think you see around you.  The darkness is not real.  Once you allow yourself to look beyond what appears to be darkness, you will see the blessed light of your holy Self in Oneness with all of creation.  Yes, allow the Great Rays of light to shine into your waking dream of your relationships.  In that light is great peace and joy waiting in your eternity.  Awaken!

When we made the decision to create our own identity, separate from reality, we began creating our waking dream.  We blocked all input from Spirit which would have interpreted our experiences by relying on our own egoic interpretation of events and experiences in our lives.  We made all our interpretations based on input from our interpretations of our past and our interpretations of others’ interpretations based on our past.  As interpretation piles upon interpretation, our perceived “reality” strays further and further from the truth and plunges deeper into darkness, blocking the awareness of the light and truth within us.  We use judgement based on our own egoic thought system rather than the wisdom of Spirit to make decisions.  Sunday’s Weekly Thought was:

Wisdom is not judgment; it is the relinquishment of judgment.
M-10.4:5

Wisdom rises to our awareness as we look within to Spirit’s guidance and release our attachment to all judgement.  The light within us is there as well and rises with wisdom.

Yet, we have made a choice to allow truth to come into our awareness.  We have made the choice to allow truth to be the goal of our relationships.  We have chosen healing over insanity.  As we release our hold on the beliefs and ideas that support separation, we find a new freedom peeking through the chaos we seem to see around us and in our minds.  Our waking dreams we have made take on a bit of that light and begin to shift.  As our waking dreams shift, so do our relationships shift as they begin healing.  The healing power of light begins to shine away all that keeps us separate from the awareness of who we really are.  We may be afraid of this awakening as we begin to experience it, but allow yourself to trust the Higher Holy Spirit Self within you to guide you.  There is peace and unconditional love there to be held and valued.  The joining together with each other and Spirit brings us into communion with the One we have never left.

You who hold another’s hand also hold mine, for when you joined each other you were not alone.  Do you believe that I would leave you in the darkness that you agreed to leave with me?  In your relationship is this world’s light.  And fear must disappear before you now.  Be tempted not to snatch away the gift of faith you offered to another.  You will succeed only in frightening yourself.  The gift is given forever, for the One received it.  You cannot take it back.  You have accepted the One.  The holiness of your relationship is established in Heaven.  You do not understand what you accepted, but remember that your understanding is not necessary.  All that was necessary was merely the wish to understand.  That wish was the desire to be holy.  The Will of the One is granted you.  For you desire the only thing you ever had, or ever were.   T-18.III.4:1-14

Take the step out of the darkness of your waking dreams.  Allow light to enter your waking dream as you turn your mind to Spirit’s guidance.  The light shining within you – hidden but never out – rises to your awareness and brings you to Oneness with each other and the One.  As the light enters your waking dream, peace also rises to your mind simply replacing your feeling of chaos in this world.  This is reality, the real world and the awareness of who you really are.  Let your light shine in your waking dream and find the real reality within you.  Just open your eyes that you may see.

Would we will ourselves to wake from the dream?  Yes!  To waken from the dream is our deepest desire, whether or not we realize it.  We constantly choose a world of dreams that seems to bring us guilt, grudges, blame and fear.  What does this accomplish?  What does this bring to our relationships?  It makes our relationships “special”, meaning that we use our relationships to perpetuate the idea of separation – the unhappy dream.  When I have trouble understanding that the world is an illusion, I think of the world I see as temporal – or temporary.  I think of the illusory world as a world that will not last.  A world that I will transform when I allow my perception of the world to change.  And then I choose that change in how I perceive the world to be guided by Spirit rather than my egoic thought system.  I can choose to be guided by Spirit to the happy dream – a healing of the dream.

Your special relationship will be a means for undoing guilt in everyone blessed through your holy relationship.  It will be a happy dream, and one which you will share with all who come within your sight.  Through it, the blessing the Holy Spirit has laid upon it will be extended.  Think not that Spirit has forgotten anyone in the purpose It has given you.  And think not that Spirit has forgotten you to whom It gave the gift.  Spirit uses everyone who calls on Spirit as means for the salvation of everyone.  And Spirit will waken everyone through you who offered your relationship to Spirit.  If you but recognized Spirit’s gratitude!  Or mine through Spirit’s!  For we are joined as in one purpose, being of one mind with Spirit.   T-18.II.7:1-9

The divine purpose of our relationships is to demonstrate Oneness – Unity – in this world.  Our divine nature is Oneness.  Our divine nature is holiness in Oneness.  There is no other real nature attributable to who we really are.  Only by believing we are something less can we block our awareness of our divinity.  Let not the waking dream close your eyes to the truth about you and all the world.  Allow Spirit to guide your waking dreams from unhappy to happy.  Allow Spirit to guide your sight with holy sight.  All that we are seeking is within us.  Spirit dwells within us as our Higher Holy Spirit Self.  Trust your inner guidance.  Trust the peace and love as it rises within you.  What do you really want – the unhappy dream or the happy dream?

Yet Heaven is sure.  This is no dream.  Its coming means that you have chosen truth, and it has come because you have been willing to let your special relationship meet its conditions.  In your relationship the Holy Spirit has gently laid the real world; the world of happy dreams, from which awaking is so easy and so natural.  For as your sleeping and your waking dreams represent the same wishes in your mind, so do the real world and the truth of Heaven join in the Will of the One.  The dream of waking is easily transferred to its reality.  For this dream reflects your will joined with the Will of the One.  And what this Will would have accomplished has never not been done.   T-18.II.9:1-8

Be willing to understand the basis of the dream.  Have faith that Spirit will guide you in that understanding.  As we waken, little by little, we will find ourselves at Heaven’s threshold.  We need do no more than step across Heaven’s threshold.  And, for a time, we will have a foot in each world, seeing ourselves and our sisters and brothers free of all limitations and spreading the happy dream throughout the world.  We will bring the awareness of our Oneness – our Unity – to this temporal world.  Wake up and dream!

The Course teaches us that we live our life in this world in a dreamlike state while we are spiritually asleep.  While we believe we are separate from each other and God, we are asleep to our spiritual awareness.  We all understand that the dreams we experience while we are sleeping are not real.  They may seem very real while we are dreaming, but we know they are simply a dream when we awake.  The contents of our dreams often contain distorted perceptions of the events and experiences in our daily lives.  Sometimes they ae nightmares that cause us great fear when we awake.  Our parents always comforted us when our dreams scared us and assured us that they were just dreams and not real.  We learned not to be afraid of our sleeping dreams.

The perceptions of our waking lives could be considered a waking dream perceived when we are spiritually asleep.  They contain distorted perceptions of the real world.  Sometimes they are good dreams and sometimes they cause fear, anger, anxiety or guilt.  Like our sleeping dreams, we are experiencing a distorted perception of our spiritual reality which we have chosen to see through the lens of separation.  The lens of separation is the egoic thought system we made to make an identity separate from each other and God.  Not only do we perceive our experiences through a lens of distortion, but we even perceive ourselves through a lens of distortion.  There appears to be much chaos in our waking dream from this distorted perception.  We think there is something or someone outside of us to arrack or defend against.  It appears there is no peace or love to be found as we search for just that.

Our mind arranges everything in our sleeping dreams, and we accept that on awakening from those dreams.  Yet, we have not been willing to see our waking dreams similarly.  We insist that our waking dreams are reality, even though they are not.  We allow our egoic thought system to arrange everything in our perception.  We dictate who and what people are and everything they do in this waking dream.  This has become such a habit that we don’t realize it can be awakened from.  Dreams are perceptual temper tantrums, in which we literally scream, “I want it thus!”  And thus, it seems to be to us.  And yet the dream cannot escape its origin.  So, this dream becomes reality for us for a time in our minds.

Dreams show you that you have the power to make a world as you would have it be, and that because you want it you see it.  And while you see it you do not doubt that it is real.  Yet here is a world, clearly within your mind, that seems to be outside.  You do not respond to it as though you made it, nor do you realize that the emotions the dream produces must come from you.  It is the figures in the dream and what they do that seem to make the dream.  You do not realize that you are making them act out for you, for if you did the guilt would not be theirs, and the illusion of satisfaction would be gone.  In dreams these features are not obscure.  You seem to waken, and the dream is gone.  Yet what you fail to recognize is that what caused the dream has not gone with it.  Your wish to make another world that is not real remains with you.  And what you seem to waken to is but another form of this same world you see in dreams.  All your time is spent in dreaming.  Your sleeping and your waking dreams have different forms, and that is all.  Their content is the same.  They are your protest against reality, and your fixed and insane idea that you can change it.  In your waking dreams, the special relationship has a special place.  It is the means by which you try to make your sleeping dreams come true.  From this, you do not waken.  The special relationship is your determination to keep your hold on unreality, and to prevent yourself from waking.  And while you see more value in sleeping than in waking, you will not let go of it.  T-18.II.5:1-20

The special relationships we are so firmly attached to keep us unaware of reality.  The answer is to release our attachment to the “specialness” of our relationships, and allow Spirit to heal and transform them.  Our special relationships are dreams, too, for they are a distorted perception of holy relationships.  Holy relationships, which acknowledge our Oneness with each other, are real.  They embody reality, where love and peace abide.  They abide within us, for we have never been separated.  Separation is impossible in reality.  Look within and see that the basis of the dream is our own misperception, our own spiritual unawareness.  Awaken from the waking dream.  Look within to the reality of Heaven within and release all that which doesn’t fit.  The basis of the dream is not real.

Truth is within us.  Truth has never left us.  The solution to all that appears wrong is within us.  All that is real and true is and has always been within us for it is inherent in our creation.  Anything less is a result of our mistaken idea that we are somehow separate from truth and reality.  The idea that we are separate from each other, God, Spirit and all of creation is a mistaken idea that our egoic thought system made to give us an identity based in our past rather than the reality of who we really are in the present moment.  When we project our past on the present, we block our awareness of the present and thus think we are our past.  The past is done, it is over.  We need not remain attached to it and allow it to block our awareness of our divine nature.

The world sometimes seems insane.  It seems to control us rather than we control it.  When we project our perceptions of the past on the world, we see our projections rather than reality.  Our free will gives us the option to see projection or reality.  What we see depends solely on what we align our thought system with.  We have become so accustomed to aligning our thought system with the idea of separation and identifying with our past that we don’t see that anything else is possible.  Something better is possible.  It simply takes a willingness to believe that something else is possible to begin to awaken to that something better.  And, that something better is within us rather than outside us where we have been searching for so long.

Let them all go, dancing in the wind, dipping and turning till they disappear from sight, far, far outside of you.  And turn you to the stately calm within, where in holy stillness dwells the living One you never left, and Who never left you.  The Holy Spirit takes you gently by the hand, and retraces with you your mad journey outside yourself, leading you gently back to the truth and safety within.  Spirit brings all your insane projections and the wild substitutions that you have placed outside you to the truth.  Thus Spirit reverses the course of insanity and restores you to reason.   T-18.I.8:1-5

Our relationships are where we restore the awareness of wholeness, truth and reality to our minds.  The process of this restoration is healing.  We need not do the healing alone, but allow the Spirit within us to guide us in this healing.  This healing is not so much an act of changing the one we are in relationship with, but seeing them as they truly are, a Holy Child of God.  This one need not change at all, but we allow our perception of them to be changed by Spirit to truth, seeing them as the divine being they are created.  The world we see will change as Spirit teaches us to let go of our attachment to projecting our past on the present.  The result is truly miraculous as Heaven is restored to all the One Holy Child as we join with each other in Oneness.  The universe within us stands with us, together with our brothers and sisters.  And Heaven looks with love on what is joined in it, along with its Creator.

You have been called, together with your sisters and brothers, to the most holy function this world contains.  It is the only one that has no limits, and reaches out to every broken fragment of the Oneship with healing and uniting comfort.  This is offered you, in your holy relationship.  Accept it here, and you will give as you have accepted.  The peace of God is given you with the glowing purpose in which you join with each other.  The holy light that brought you and them together must extend, as you accepted it.   T-18. I.13:1-6

Make the choice today to no longer align with a substitute reality based in your past. Release your past and allow Spirit to guide you in the holy purpose of your relationships to their healing.  Allow your mind to be in the present and align with Spirit’s guidance.  Allow your relationships to align with their divine function.  Allow yourself to align with Oneness and rediscover the awareness of all you really are.  Peace is rediscovered in this shift and Heaven rises in your awareness, having always been within you.  Look within and discover all you have been seeking has always been within you.

We have substituted a “reality” for reality.  “What?” you may say, “That makes no sense.”  And you are right, it makes no sense whatsoever.  We are all One, all joined in Oneness, and so there is only one relationship in reality.  Yet we are constantly substituting one brother or sister for another in our relationships when we are not satisfied with someone.  When one lets us down, we immediately try to fix them to what we think they should be or how they should act.  Then when that doesn’t work we replace them with another that we think will do or act as we wish.  We judge them on how they fulfill our unreasonable expectations of them.  In choosing one above another we are renouncing one in favor of another.  This is separation personified.  And we don’t even recognize we are doing this.  As we repeat this error time and time again, we fragment our perception repeatedly until there’s no semblance of the Oneness of reality left in our awareness.

Spirit, within us, sees this, yet It continues to see us whole and united as One even in the face of our total immersion in the idea of separation.  The egoic thought system sees replacement and substitution where Spirit sees all joined and indivisible.  One would unite; the other separate.  However, nothing can come between what the One has joined and what Spirit sees as one.  But everything seems to come between the fragmented relationships the ego sponsors to destroy.

Substitution is impossible in the presence of love.  Yet, fear involves substitution by definition, for it is love’s replacement.  Fear is both a fragmented and fragmenting emotion.  It seems to take many forms, and each one seems to require a different form of acting out for satisfaction.  The awareness of wholeness and completion are impossible in the mindset of fear.  Fragmentation and fear are the blocks we have placed to the awareness of our divine nature; our wholeness and completeness.

You who believe that God is fear made but one substitution.  It has taken many forms, because it was the substitution of illusion for truth; of fragmentation for wholeness.  It has become so splintered and subdivided and divided again, over and over, that it is now almost impossible to perceive it once was one, and still is what it was.  That one error, which brought truth to illusion, infinity to time, and life to death, was all you ever made.  Your whole world rests upon it.  Everything you see reflects it, and every special relationship that you have ever made is part of it.   T-18.I.4:1-6

The world we seem to see appears mad.  It appears insane.  It is a fragmented world, rooted in the belief in separation that we project on the world.  And so, it appears to be in conflict and conflicted, no two parts of it making sense with another.  The world appears fearful, and rightly so, for fear is what we project on the world.  Do not invest in this mad world, for there is no value in its madness.  Above all, do not be afraid of this twisted world.  It is not real, for it is not what it appears.  It is a substitute for the real world, reality.  Let’s undo the substitution and embrace love.
