Lesson 159 –
I give the miracles I have received.
The Course has taught us that giving and receiving are the same. This is so because we are all One. We are One in Spirit. Even though we appear to be separate in this world, we are all joined in the Mind of God. Everything is shared. What I have is yours and what you have is mine. When we share something real, it never leaves us, but is increased by
our sharing it. This is the abundance of reality. When I accept this fact, I can relax into the peace that flows from deep within all of us. You can choose this, too. Essentially the act of giving – or sharing – is receiving. This is the blessing in itself.
You understand that you are healed when you give healing. You accept forgiveness as accomplished in yourself when you forgive. You recognize another as yourself, and thus do you perceive that you are whole. There is no miracle you cannot give, for all are given you. Receive them now by opening the storehouse of your mind where they are laid, and giving them away. W-pI.159.2:1-5
Holy Vision is a miracle. It shows us a different perception of the world we see. Our egoic perception views the world through a dark and clouded glass. This glass shows us a dark and twisted world in broken parts where chaos reigns. This is nothing more than a mistaken perception, but it is all we can see until we allow our Holy Vision to rise in us. Holy Vision reflects eternal love in this world. This Holy Vision pictures Heaven, for it sees a world so like to Heaven that what God created perfect can be mirrored there. The real world pictures Heaven’s innocence.
Christ’s vision is the miracle in which all miracles are born. It is their source, remaining with each miracle you give, and yet remaining yours. It is the bond by which the giver and receiver are united in extension here on earth, as they are one in Heaven. Christ beholds no sin in anyone. And in Christ’s sight the sinless are as one. Their holiness was given by Source and Itself. W-pI.159.4:1-5
Holy vision is the bridge between the two worlds. We can safely trust its power to carry us from this world into another made holy by forgiveness. Things which seem quite solid here are merely shadows there; transparent, faintly seen, at times forgotten. What appeared solid can never again obscure the light that shines beyond them. Holiness has been restored to vision, and we, who were unable to see, can see.
The miracle we ultimately seek is the return to the awareness of who we really are. When we do return to this awareness, all doubt vanishes. We see the world transformed into the Home we recognize and we return joyfully knowing we are whole and complete, having all we need or could ever want. We can choose to accept the gift of Vision whenever we are ready. Aren’t you ready now?
Christ’s vision is the holy ground in which the lilies of forgiveness set their roots. This is their home. They can be brought from here back to the world, but they can never grow in its unnourishing and shallow soil. They need the light and warmth and kindly care Christ’s charity provides. They need the love with which Christ looks on them. And they become Christ’s messengers, who give as they received. W-pI.159.8:1-6
Accept this gift of Vision. We are worthy of this gift. This gift is already ours and was given us at our creation. Only our denial of who we really are blocks it from our awareness. Open you Holy Eyes and receive as the circle of giving and receiving brings you the sight of the real world in which our Home lies. It is time. Choose again.
