Attaining and maintaining a state of peace. This is the motivation for the Course. This is why the Course exists. Our mind is quiet in this state and we remember who we are and that we are One with God and all of Creation. We remember God and Truth in this quiet state of peace. This is really what we are seeking. We just forgot what is was and so were looking in all the wrong places for something we already had.
Peace is God’s will for us. It will enter when we let God in to our awareness. Do we really think that a shadow, an illusion, can possibly come between ourselves and our Creator? We are One with God and nothing can come between us. Yet, we believe that something has. We believe that we have been separated from God by something or someone that we have no control over.
Our belief in something other than Truth, our belief that something can separate us from God and the awareness of who we really are, is the only thing that keeps us from attaining a state of peace. We have become so focused on what we believe to be true apart from God that we have let it cloud our vision, blur our awareness. Yet it is so simple to let go of our beliefs and let God show us Truth. Letting our will, the Will we share with God flow through us and bubble up from within us is an incredible joy. It may seem difficult at first, but trusting God to show us the way is an easy thing once we let go of our beliefs and attachments that we made up.
The Course asks us to be willing to question everything we think we value, everything we think is true, and everything we think we believe. Nothing can be omitted or withheld. All must be open to be questioned, opened to the light of Spirit. All that is real will remain and all that is not real will simply fade away if we are willing to truly let go of it. What God creates has no alternative. Everything is of God or an illusion. When we grant this willingness, the state of peace wells up from within. It rises to fill all of our awareness, and we experience the abundant love, peace, and joy that is God! There is no alternative other than this.
